NUL Standard is fundamentally committed to delivering high-performance cycling apparel manufactured to the most exacting specifications. This comprehensive policy explicitly governs all aspects of order cancellation, statutory withdrawal, commercial returns, and the subsequent processing of financial refunds for all transactions executed through the NUL Standard digital storefront. By initiating a purchase on this platform, you unequivocally acknowledge and accept the binding operational procedures, financial deductions, and logistical responsibilities detailed within this document.

2. Mandatory Statutory Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers Only)

In strict adherence to the European Union Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as amended by Directive (EU) 2023/2673, consumers domiciled within the European Union are granted a statutory right to withdraw from a distance sales contract within a strict, non-negotiable period of fourteen (14) calendar days. This period commences exclusively on the physical calendar day that you, or a designated third party other than the carrier, acquire physical possession of the merchandise.

3. Procedural Execution of the Right of Withdrawal

To validly exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, you must unequivocally inform NUL Standard of your decision to terminate the contract. To ensure immediate processing and to maintain the legally required audit trail mandated by 2026 EU regulations, this withdrawal must be executed exclusively via the dedicated electronic "Withdraw from Contract" interface located within your digital account dashboard or via the persistent link provided in your final order confirmation communication. The utilisation of this digital function requires a mandatory two-step confirmation process to register your intent. Attempting to withdraw by refusing delivery at the door, failing to collect a parcel from a designated pickup point, or returning the goods without first executing the digital withdrawal protocol does not constitute a legally valid withdrawal and will result in the immediate forfeiture of associated refund guarantees and the application of severe administrative processing fees.

4. Logistical Obligations and Costs of Return Transit

Upon the successful electronic registration of your intent to withdraw, you are legally obligated to dispatch the physical goods back to the designated NUL Standard logistics facility without undue delay, and in any event, no later than fourteen (14) calendar days from the date your withdrawal notification was digitally timestamped. You acknowledge and explicitly agree that you shall bear the absolute, undivided financial burden of all direct shipping costs, customs duties, import tariffs, and administrative transit fees associated with returning the goods to our facility in Denmark. NUL Standard accepts zero financial or legal liability for returned merchandise that is lost, misdirected, stolen, or catastrophically damaged while in transit via your chosen courier service. We strongly mandate the use of a fully trackable and adequately insured premium logistics provider.

5. Depreciation of Value and Hygiene Limitations

While you possess the right to physically inspect the received merchandise to establish its nature, characteristics, and basic functioning, this inspection is strictly limited to the level of handling that would reasonably be permitted in a physical retail environment.

Due to the intimate, high-performance nature of athletic cycling apparel, strict hygiene protocols are enforced. If the returned merchandise exhibits any evidence of utilisation beyond basic sizing verification, NUL Standard reserves the absolute statutory right to significantly reduce your refund to account for the depreciation in the value of the goods. You will be held financially liable, up to 100% of the original purchase price, for any diminished value resulting from the following actions

• Removal, destruction, or separation of the original manufacturer tags, security seals, or bespoke protective packaging

• Evidence of the garment being worn for active physical exertion, including indoor trainer use or outdoor cycling

• The presence of human sweat, biological residues, synthetic chamois creams, topical lotions, or distinct bodily odours

• Fabric abrasions, snagged threads, stretching of technical compression panels, or environmental dirt accumulation

6. EU ESPR Compliance and Unsellable Goods Recovery Fee

In direct compliance with the European Union Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) effective July 2026, NUL Standard is strictly prohibited from destroying unsold or returned textile products. Consequently, if merchandise is returned in an unsellable condition due to consumer negligence, excessive wear, or hygiene violations as defined in Section 5, NUL Standard cannot simply discard the item. In such instances, where a full refund is denied due to depreciation, the consumer will also be assessed a mandatory Environmental Recovery and Remanufacturing Fee to cover the complex logistical costs of legally recycling or remanufacturing the contaminated textile, which will be directly deducted from any residual refund balance.

7. Claims for Defective Merchandise and Statutory Guarantees

NUL Standard fully acknowledges and adheres to the mandatory two-year legal guarantee covering manufacturing defects and inherent non-conformities as stipulated by the Danish Sale of Goods Act (Købeloven) and broader European Union consumer protection frameworks. However, this statutory guarantee is strictly limited to inherent design flaws, critical material failures, or manufacturing defects present at the precise time of original delivery.

This guarantee emphatically does not cover, and NUL Standard explicitly rejects all liability for, damages or product failures resulting from

• Standard, expected material degradation and aesthetic wear and tear arising from regular cycling usage

• Catastrophic fabric failure, tearing, or road rash resulting from a bicycle crash, collision, or accidental impact

• Deterioration of technical fabrics, waterproof coatings, or elastic properties due to improper laundering, exposure to extreme temperatures, or failure to strictly adhere to the provided care instructions

• Damage caused by external mechanical friction, such as saddle abrasion, velcro contact from accessories, or improper storage

8. Mandatory Evidentiary Burden for Defect Claims

To initiate a valid claim for a defective product under the statutory guarantee, the consumer bears the absolute burden of proof. You must submit a comprehensive digital dossier to our quality control department, including high-resolution macro photography of the alleged defect, a detailed written account of the failure circumstances, and incontrovertible proof of original purchase. NUL Standard reserves the unilateral right to demand the physical return of the item for forensic inspection by our textile engineers before any remedy is considered. If the defect is deemed valid, NUL Standard retains the sole discretion to resolve the claim via a professional repair of the garment, a direct replacement with an identical item, or a financial refund, in that specific order of operational preference.

9. Financial Processing and Disbursement of Refunds

Upon the physical receipt and satisfactory forensic inspection of returned merchandise at our logistics facility, approved refunds will be processed without undue delay. The financial reimbursement will be executed exclusively via the exact identical third-party payment gateway and specific financial instrument utilised for the original transaction. NUL Standard accepts no responsibility for delays in the final crediting of funds caused by the processing times of intermediary banks, credit card issuers, or the Shopify platform ecosystem. We categorically will not issue refunds via alternative methods, manual bank transfers, or physical currency under any circumstances.

10. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

You explicitly acknowledge that the statutory right of withdrawal is entirely void and legally inapplicable for any merchandise that has been custom-manufactured, uniquely tailored, or distinctly personalised to your exact biological specifications or aesthetic requests. Furthermore, sealed goods that are fundamentally unsuitable for return due to strict health protection or extreme hygiene reasons shall permanently lose their right of withdrawal the moment the hygienic seal is broken or tampered with after delivery.
